Holiday Season Mode: Doing Less, Eating More, & Not Feeling Bad About It
The holidays hit different when you finally learn how to schedule your life, protect your peace, and still enjoy every plate that comes your way. Listen — I love the holidays. LOVE. Not because of gifts or chaos, but because I don’t work as much, I move slower, and my calendar is finally doing what I tell it to do.
See, this time of year is when I stop trying to post on every social media platform like I’m running for office. I schedule whatever needs to go up, walk away, and let the Lord handle the engagement. Do I lose followers? Maybe. Do I lose sleep? Absolutely not.
Because once that sweet smell of dressing, macaroni, ham, greens, pie, and that cousin’s “famous” punch hits the air? Baby, my priorities shift. I’m in holiday mode and holiday mode means eating, resting, and minding your own business like it’s a second job.

I Enjoy the Food… AND the Weight Gain. Yes, I Said It.
Every year I tell myself I’m going to “be good” during the holidays. But be for real — there’s a plate coming from every direction.
A plate from Auntie.
A plate from Grandma.
A plate delivered by a cousin who can’t cook but tries every year and you accept it anyway because “it’s the holidays.”
By December 31st, I’m full, joyful, and three pounds heavier. And honestly? I’m okay with that. You cannot spell “holiday cheer” without CHEF — meaning somebody’s in the kitchen and I’m not turning it down.

How I Make the Holidays Easier (Feel Free to Steal These Tips)
1. Schedule EVERYTHING ahead
Posts, emails, uploads, newsletters — all scheduled.
I treat December like a soft-life boot camp.
2. Stop trying to do too much
If the holiday season doesn’t teach anything else, it teaches sit down somewhere.
You don’t need three side hustles running at once in December. Pick one and breathe.
3. Enjoy your food without guilt
Eat the cake. Eat the pie. Eat the plate that wasn’t even meant for you.
January is coming — you’ll be fine.
4. Have at least ONE “do nothing” day
No work. No posting. No responding.
Just you, pajamas, a blanket, and whatever show you’ve been ignoring.
5. Ask yourself: “What do I want this season to feel like?”
Peaceful? Rested? Loved?
Plan around that, not what other people want from you.

And How About You?
Me? I’m enjoying this season — the food, the freedom, the quiet moments, and the extra pounds.
But how about you?
Do you go full holiday mode too?
Do you slow down or try to do everything at once?
Are you in the kitchen or just waiting for the food like me?
Drop it in the comments — y’all know I’m nosy.
